AC Leonard signs extension through 2021

Published: Tuesday, Jan 21st 2020, 8:01am

According to Justin Dunk of 3Downnation.com, A.C Leonard has signed a 2 year contract extension with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. The talented, athletic defensive end will reportedly earn around $150,000 per season over the next 2 years in Riderville.

The 2018 East All-Star finished 2019 with a career high 9 sacks, to go with his 44 tackles and 3 forced fumbles. He closed out the season strong with 7 sacks over his final 6 games, including 2 against the Bombers in the West Final.

The former receiver has been successful as a defensive end since Chris Jones moved him to the defensive side of the ball, but coming off his best season yet, the Riders had no choice but to lock him up long term.

Our Free Agent Tracker has been updated with this signing.
