All Rise! Cameron Judge Back with the Riders!

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have locked up their biggest free agent before he hits the open market. Canadian star linebacker Cameron Judge returns to the Riders on a 1 year deal, keeping him with the team through the 2020 season as the Riders look to win the Grey Cup at home again.
Judge was the most important potential free agent going into the offseason for the Riders and keeping him on is HUGE. The other starters from last year in the LB group are Derrick Moncrief (Las Vegas Raiders) and Solomon Elimimian (free agent) and there is talk from Dave Naylor of TSN that the Riders and Solly are far apart and he’s likely to hit the open market. With the uncertainty of the group as a whole, getting Judge back was imperative for General Manager Jeremy O’Day and he delivered on Super Bowl Sunday!
Judge had a career year last season, with 61 tackles, adding another 11 on special teams, 5 sacks, 2 picks (1 returned for a TD in the first place clinching game against Edmonton) and a forced fumble.
While it’s only a 1 year deal, don’t fret. He’ll likely take next offseason to try the NFL again and you can’t fault a guy for that. This shows that he DOES want to be here and the feeling is mutual. All Rise, Rider Nation! Your Judge, jury and executioner is back for a Grey Cup run!
