Piffles Podcast has been able to confirm that former Most Outstanding Lineman, Derek Dennis, has signed with the Calgary Stampeders.
Dennis returns to the Stamps after leaving the CFL at the end of the 2019 season. Dennis signed with the XFL’s New York Guardians in early 2020 but the season was cut short due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the league is still on hiatus.
Dennis then signed with the Edmonton Elks in the 2021 preseason but due to a conflict with the Elks management was shelved for the entire year (Listen Here Ep:164 – Bonecrusher Unfiltered) until the team hired Chris Jones, who then released the former all-star.
Sources also state that Dennis was in talks with the Riders for a return to Saskatchewan but both parties couldn’t agree on a number, which lead to the inevitable return to Calgary.
