Chris Jones Contract Extension

According to Dave Naylor of TSN, the Riders are set to announce a contract extension with Head Coach/General Manager/VP Chris Jones later today.
According to him, the Riders and Chris Jones have agreed to a one-year contract extension, meaning Jones will be the man in charge through the 2019 season.
After over-hauling a roster that went 3-15 prior to his arrival, Chris Jones has turned the Riders from an afterthought, to a potential Grey Cup contender in short order. Under Jones, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are 15-21, though 13 of those losses came in their first season together.
Rumours that the Riders and Jones were discussing a contract extension have been floating around since the season ended, but it’s great to know that we will not be heading into the 2018 season without a clear direction for the team’s future.
