Free Agents Around the League – Calgary Stampeders

2018 is ending and as we close the book on another CFL year, we finish our look ahead at some of the best free agents out there from other teams and tell you who would look good making the transition to green and white. Our final look at free agents stops in Calgary where we look at the defending Grey Cup Champions and a few of their players we want in Saskatchewan.

I can ONLY pick 5?? This is the toughest one for sure.
WR Juwan Brescacin – This is purely a ratio move. Would LOVE to see Brescacin and Jake Harty be the Riders Canadian receivers next year.
WR Bakari Grant – I know this won’t happen, but Bakari is one of the NICEST guys you will ever meet. GREAT in the community, loves Dr. Pepper… I’m a BG fan for life! (Plus Amy could wear her #81 Grant jersey again)
LB Alex Singleton – Likely gets an NFL shot, but I would be first in line to get a #49 jersey.
DL Micah Johnson – Dude is a monster. Would be fun to see him and Charleston Hughes back together if Willie Jefferson goes south…
QB Bo Levi Mitchell – Bo knows winning. That’s ALL. HE. DOES. 5 seasons, 4 Grey Cup appearances, 2 Grey Cup wins, 2 Grey Cup MOP Awards… like his arrogance or not (and I do), I don’t care. I’m jealous of the winning in Calgary and I want it here.

WR Juwan Brescacin – Canadian receiver that can push an American if need be.
WR Lemar Durant – See Brescacin, Juwan
QB Bo Levi Mitchell – Just to see the amount of crow that would be served. Please let this happen.
LB Alex Singleton – One of the best “Canadian” players in the game. You would be stupid to not attempt to sign him.
DL Junior Turner – Pair with with Zack Evans in the middle of the D-Line with Hughes and Jefferson on the ends?? YES PLEASE!

QB Bo Levi Mitchell – This team needs a #1 QB. If Mitchell does not get picked up by an NFL team, and is available when free agency opens, the Riders would be smart to throw some cash at him.
LB Alex Singleton – One of the top 2 linebackers in the game right now and has the proper passport. He is a game breaker and would look great in green and white.
WR Eric Rogers – With Jordan Williams-Lambert potentially moving down to the NFL and Naaman Roosevelt a free agent, Eric Rogers is a no brainer.
DL Micah Johnson – Could you imagine a defensive line that consisted of Micah Johnson, Zack Evans, Charleston Hughes and Willie Jefferson? That is the defensive line of nightmares for other teams.
WR – Bakari Grant – He was a 1000 yard receiver only 1 year ago, and now add Grey Cup Champion to his list. Great community guy and solid possession receiver. The team is missing veterans in the receiving corps (especially if Roosevelt doesn’t return) and Grant could help there as well.
