We hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas filled with plenty of Green and White under the tree!
The Piffles Free Agent Cross Country Tour has 2 more stops to make before the year is out, so let’s get to the Nation’s Capital… Ottawa. There are some massive names on the REDBLACKS Free Agent list and there are some that would look just lovely in Rider green and white! Let’s share our top picks!
Alex’s Picks (@RealAlexD)
WR Greg Ellingson – He’s the best receiver in the league, you would be crazy to not want him.
QB Trevor Harris – He won’t leave Ottawa, but he would be a MASSIVE upgrade over what we had here in 2018.
RB William Powell – Best running back in the East in 2018. Not an area of need here in Saskatchewan, but I’m for it.
WR Diontae Spencer – Another no brainer.
OL Jon Gott – We have a place here at Mosaic Stadium called Pil Country. I think he would like it there.
Greg’s Picks (@GregOnSports)
WR Greg Ellingson – One of the most consistent receivers in the league, and if there is no Roosevelt or JWL in the line up there is a hole that will need filled.
RB William Powell – Not an area of “need”, but why not get a 1000 yard rusher in the stable.
WR Diontae Spencer – Quite possibly the best double threat in the league not named Speedy Banks
OL Jon Gott – Canadian veteran O-lineman with some gas in the tank. Plus you know… we like beer as well. I got an ice cold Churchill with his name on it.
OL SirVincent Rogers – If you want to have an international on the line, might as well make it one of the best in the league.
Steve’s Picks (@Safimod)
QB Trevor Harris – The Riders need a QB and he would be a massive upgrade to the team
WR Greg Ellingson – Just like the other guys, this is a no brainer. One of the top receivers in the league.
WR Diontae Spencer – Could you imagine this team with a legitimate deep threat?
RB William Powell – Not a need, but if this team is going to continue to run the ball all the time, might as well go for the best available
OL Jason Lauzon-Seguin – Starting Canadian O-Lineman. Enough said.
Monday before the year is out, we make our final Free Agent stop, as we pick our wants for the Riders from the Grey Cup Champions, the Calgary Stampeders.
