Free Agents From Around the League – Montreal Alouettes

With the CFL season officially over, and the long wait until the 2019 season underway, we thought it would be a good idea to look at the potential free agents from the other 8 teams around the league, to see whom the Riders might be well suited to pick up if they make it to February. Each day, we will pick a team, and each of us will pick our top 5 “free agent wants” from that team, along with a reason as to why we would be interested in that particular player.

We will start out East with the Montreal Alouettes

Greg(@Gregonsports)

Luc Brodeur-Jourdain – Depth never hurts.

Tevaughn Campbell – Home town boy with great speed and a ton of upside.

Faith Ekakitie – Former 1st overall draft pick who might just need the right system.

Ernest Jackson – Could be the vet if Naaman Roosevelt doesn’t stick around.

Eugene Lewis – Great receiver who would push for a starting position.

Alex(@RealAlexD)

Eugene Lewis – He’s the best player on a terrible team, but is he any better than what we have in Saskatchewan already?

-Ummmm…..

-Ummmm…..

-Ummmm…..

-Can I just pick 10 from Calgary instead?

Stephen(@Safimod)

Eugene Lewis – Solid receiver, but I’m not sure that he would crack the starting roster on the Riders

TJ Heath – Solid defensive back who could be add to an already talented defensive backfield. We know Chris Jones likes to load up on defensive talent.

Faith Ekakitie – Could be a good rotational guy should Zack Evans leave. Perhaps he just hasn’t found the right system yet?

-That’s it – beyond those 3, there isn’t a name that stands out as a guy that I could see displacing anyone that the Riders currently have. There is a reason that the Montreal Alouettes have gone 8-28 over the past 2 years (Yes, I know ¼ of their wins are against Saskatchewan, shut up)

Tomorrow, we will head out West to take a look at the BC Lions
