Game Day – Riders Look to Remain Undefeated in Hamilton Against the Winless Ticats

It wasn’t pretty last week, but I don’t care what anyone says, winning isn’t ugly. The Riders rallied in the 4th quarter to beat the Edmonton Elks 29-21 to open the season 1-0. This week, the Riders look to build off that win and bring home a 2-0 record for the home opener next week.

For the Riders, despite the win, we still have changes to the roster. Jayden Dalke has lost his starting Safety spot and will backup Nelson Lokombo who makes the move from corner. Taking Lokombo’s spot at corner will be Marcus Sayles who was signed before game 1, but was given a week to get up to speed with the defense.

To make room for another American on the roster, receiver KeeSean Johnson will sit this week and Canadian Mitch Picton will draw in the starting lineup and we get our first full look at the NEW Canadian Air Force, with preseason sensation Ajou Ajou backing them up!

And despite not practicing a couple of times this week with a minor ankle injury, All Star O-Lineman Jermarcus Hardrick remains in his starting Right Tackle position.

For Hamilton, there are PLENTY of changes to their roster this week, but none bigger than Cornerback Jamal Peters making his season (and Ticats) debut after missing last week with a hamstring injury.

Don’t miss out on Episode 273 of The Piffles Podcast where we recapped the Riders season opening win in Edmonton, talked about chipped balls and looked ahead to this game against the Ticats.
