Otha Foster Back in Green and White

A day after LB Jeff Knox Jr. rejoined the Saskatchewan Roughriders, LB Otha Foster has done the same.

As reported by 3 Down Nation’s Justin Dunk, Otha Foster has signed back with the Riders after getting cut by the Baltimore Ravens of the NFL and is on route to Regina. Foster has proven himself as one of the best SAM Linebackers in the league, and that’s not an easy position to find an all-star. The SAM LB is a cover position that usually lines up against some of the best receivers in the league, a position of weakness for the Riders this year.

Erick Dargan has mostly been the SAM LB for the Riders this season, and while he hasn’t been bad by any means, he’s still pretty raw and adding an all-star like Foster takes the Riders from having one of the pedestrian LB units in the league, to possibly the best. Knox Jr. – Muamba – Foster is a VERY good LB group and the Riders D has a very physical and talented group assembled by Chris Jones.

We aren’t sure if Foster will play this weekend against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but if he is ready to go against Calgary next week, that’s a GREAT thing.

Of course we will discuss this signing as well as the Jeff Knox Jr. signing on this week’s episode of the Piffles Podcast, out on Thursday morning. Stay tuned to @pifflespod for more!
