Piffles Podcast Joins SaskTel maxTV On Demand

Published: Tuesday, Aug 8th 2023, 5:08pm

The Piffles Podcast is proud to announce that we have partnered up with SaskTel maxTV Local on Demand and now the Piffles Podcast will be available for you ANYTIME on your TV from the comfort of your own home!

Finding us will be easy! Just use the On Demand menu and go to Subscriptions > maxTV Local > Sports. The show will also be on channels 107/407 on Thursdays!

The Piffles Podcast started out in time for the 2016 season as just some Saskatchewan Roughrider fans who wanted to talk CFL football. We’ve done that to the tune of 230+ episodes to date, which includes multiple interviews with current and former CFL Commissioners Randy Ambrosie and Jeffrey Orridge, Hall of Famers such as Warren Moon, Ray Elgaard, Don Narcisse, Eddie Davis, Dave Ridgway and interviews with current stars around the league.

But what we’re really proud of is our work in the community. Between our touch football games at Mosaic Stadium with former Riders Jovon Johnson, Bakari Grant and Dariusz Bladek, to our t-shirt partnerships with Brett Lauther & Cody Fajardo, to running the CFL Fans Fight Cancer event at Grey Cup last year, we’ve raised nearly $40,000 for charities and that is our best work.

So, why the name “Piffles Podcast” for a Saskatchewan Roughriders fan podcast? Well, we started doing the show during the final season at Taylor Field and we wanted to find a way to honour the old building that made us fall in love with football. What better way than to name the show after Neil “Piffles” Taylor, who Taylor Field was named after? The rest, as they say, is history.

Of course, we couldn’t do this show and make it into our 8th year without our wonderful sponsors. Thank you as always to Dairy Queen Grill & Chill (on Elphinstone St. & Sask. Drive in Regina), Kathy Feszczyn of Royal Lepage Regina Realty and Churchill Brewing Company for helping us do what we love!

We look forward to reaching a new audience here in Saskatchewan and hope we can continue to build a stronger sense of community with a little help from SaskTel maxTV On Demand. Like you, we are fans of the team with strong opinions. We can’t wait to share them with you and get your thoughts as well! Go Riders!
