The Riders have released Linebacker Derrick Moncrief, to allow him to pursue an NFL opportunity. Over the past few weeks, Moncrief has had 8 NFL workouts, his most recent with the San Francisco 49ers. Jeremy O’day had already admitted yesterday that they were planning on moving ahead without Moncrief, as it was likely he would get an offer, but it was made official this morning.
The standout linebacker had 69 tackles, 4 sacks, 3 interceptions and a forced fumble with the Roughriders in 2019.
