According to Justin Dunk of 3 Down Nation the Saskatchewan Roughriders are set to announce the signing of Canadian QB Brandon Bridge to a 1 year contract extension. In Bridge’s first year with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, the Canadian pivot through for 1236 yards and 10 touchdowns, with only 4 interceptions.

The one year deal is obviously to hold over until the new CBA. Bridge and CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie have plans this offseason to discuss the potential of including quarterbacks in the ratio, which would certainly add to Bridge’s value during any future deals if that happens.

There is no arguing that Brandon Bridge was the better QB to close out the season with the Roughriders, but many (including myself) wondered if he was in Chris Jones’ plans after Jones constantly went back to Kevin Glenn game after game.

This is a great signing as there is no doubt Brandon Bridge showed great potential when he hit the field in 2017. Here’s hoping he continues to improve in 2018 and beyond.
