That game was a roller coaster, huh? After a perfect preseason, the Saskatchewan Roughriders are off to a perfect start in the regular season following yesterday’s 29-21 win over the Elks in Edmonton! Join us this week on The Piffles Podcast where Greg and Steve will join me in breaking down the game, but until then, I shared some of my thoughts on the win in today’s Morning After article.

Obviously with the season kicking off, it was a busy week of preparation in Riderville. Only one signing this week for the team, but it was a pretty shrewd move from General Manager Jeremy O’Day, as he brought in former All-Star defensive back Marcus Sayles. Sayles was among the final cuts in BC last week and could be on the active roster next week if fellow DBs Amari Henderson and Rodney Clemons remain sidelined.

Outside of the game, it was a week full of predictions and picks for us on The Piffles Podcast! We gave our predictions on the CFL standings, made some BOLD predictions and shared who we thought will win the Saskatchewan Roughriders team awards (and be the unsung hero for the year) at the end of the season.

And of course, don’t miss our weekly CFL Power Rankings, out every Tuesday!

Elsewhere, it was a big week for the league OFF the field as well, as the CFL announced that The Jonas Brothers will headline the Grey Cup Halftime Show in Vancouver this year!

They aren’t my cup of tea, so to speak, but they hit a much younger demographic that the league desperately needs to reach. It’s a HUGE get by the league and while I know precisely zero of their songs, this is a fantastic thing for the future of the CFL.

And we have to give congrats to X (Twitter) user @tyeluffer17 for winning our contest and scoring a piece of NEW Riders Obsidian merch! We have more to giveaway and we’ll do that on our Facebook page really soon! Head on over there and like & follow the page so you don’t miss a contest!

What’s next for the Riders? Another road game for the Riders as they head out east to take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The game is on Sunday, June 16 (Father’s Day) at 5pm.
