Safimod's 2019 Power Rankings - Week 15 Edition

Published: Monday, Sep 23rd 2019, 11:09am

By: Stephen Safinuk (@Safimod)

1 – Calgary Stampeders (9-4) (LW: 1)

2 – Hamilton Tiger-cats (10-3) (LW: 2)

3 – Montreal Alouettes (7-5) (LW: 5)

4 – Saskatchewan Roughriders (8-4) (LW: 4)

5 – Winnipeg Blue Bombers (9-4) (LW: 3)

6 – BC Lions (3-10) (LW: 7)

7 – Toronto Argonauts (2-10) (LW: 6)

8 – Edmonton Eskimos (6-7) (LW: 8)

9 – Ottawa REDBLACKS (3-10) (LW: 9)

Only a couple moves in this week’s edition of the Safimod Power Rankings. After blowing a late 20-point lead to the Montreal Alouettes on Saturday night, the Blue Bombers have swapped places with Montreal in the power rankings. Winnipeg drops from 3rd to 5th and Montreal jumps from 5th to 3rd.

The BC Lions jump from 7th to 6th after back to back easy wins over the Ottawa REDBLACKS. While it is “only Ottawa”, they won both games quite handily (66-12) and managed to keep Reilly upright consistently over the last 3 weeks.

Calgary and Hamilton remain at the top after tight wins over Toronto and Edmonton respectively. Speaking of the Stamps and Ticats, both teams clinched playoff spots this weekend, with the Riders not far behind. Any Saskatchewan win or REDBLACKS loss over the remaining 6 weeks would be enough to clinch a spot for the green and white. There are still 6 weeks left in the CFL season – its crazy to think that 4/6 playoff spots could be gone as early as Saturday afternoon.
