1 – Winnipeg
2 – Saskatchewan
3 – Hamilton
4 – Toronto
5 – Calgary
6 – Montreal
7 – Ottawa
8 – BC
9 – Edmonton

It’s that time of the year again. Birds are chirping, flowers are blooming and Canada is getting ready for another exciting season of CFL football. With that in mind, it’s time to kickoff my weekly power rankings.

It’s hard to put the back-to-back reigning champions in anywhere but the #1 spot as we head in to the 2022 season. The big concern in Winnipeg this season must be the losses on offense. Andrew Harris, Darvin Adams, and Kenny Lawler are all playing in other CFL cities this year, and those are 3 talented players in Zach Collaros’ arsenal. It remains to be seen how fast their new offense will gel, but with the best offensive line in the league giving Zach time, he may just make it work.

Spots 2 through 4 feel almost interchangeable to me. I predict all 3 of these teams to be battling it out for home playoff games come November. I know – bold prediction from me on this one.

Calgary at 5 seems both too high AND too low all at the same time. That alone makes me feel like I’ve got them in the right spot. I’ve seen a few people call Calgary to win the West, but I just don’t see it. For now, I see them heading to Regina in November to battle Saskatchewan in a rematch of the 2021 WSF.

Ottawa, BC, and Edmonton are all in “show me” mode this year. All 3 have undergone fairly drastic lineup changes, including new starting QBs – will it be enough to get them over the hump? We will see, soon enough as week 1 kicks off tomorrow!
