I don’t think there are going to be many who argue when it comes to the top and bottom spots of my CFL Power Rankings. The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (on paper) are the team to beat in 2021. They were the best team in 2019, despite how the Grey Cup played out, and will look to take it one step further in 2021.
Meanwhile, the Ottawa REDBLACKS will just look to survive the 2021 season. They will need to rely heavily on their defense this season if they want to win more than a small handful of games.
The Roughriders are bringing back a large chunk of their team that lead the way in the West in 2019. The biggest question mark will be at offensive line. Will their new look offensive line be able to keep Cody Fajardo upright? If they can, the sky is the limit for this offense under new OC Jason Maas.
I fully expect Blue Bomber fans to lose their minds but hear me out. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers were a 4th/5th place team that caught lightning in the bottle on their way to a Grey Cup victory. Their all-star Canadian RB is almost 2 years older, and already nicked up early in camp. Will he, and more importantly Zach Collaros, stay healthy enough to guide the Bombers to a successful 2021 campaign? Time will tell.
The Toronto Argonauts are the team I had the most issue placing on my rankings. On paper, they have done more than anybody to improve on their 4-14 record from 2 years ago. The biggest question mark will be, how will that team gel during a shorted 14 game season.
