Safimod’s Power Rankings – Week 13

Steve is enjoying time off, so I’ll update his Power Rankings for this week. If they are wrong, it’s still his fault!

1. Calgary (Even) – Next up: Saskatchewan

2. Winnipeg (Even) – Next up: Ottawa

3. Saskatchewan (Even) – Next up: Calgary

4. Toronto (Up 3) – Next up: Montreal

5. BC (Down 1) – Nex upt: Hamilton

6. Edmonton (Down 1) – Next up: Bye

7. Ottawa (Down 1) – Next up: Winnipeg

8. Hamilton (Even) – Next up: BC

9. Montreal (Even) – Next up: Toronto

Ho hum, Calgary remains at #1. Until they lose a few games, no one will top them in the Power Rankings. They will have a tough test facing a much improved Rider team, possibly without star RB Jerome Messam. This could be a game that is close because of injuries, or a blowout because of injuries.

Winnipeg stays the same after a bye. After a Banjo Bowl win, they are looking like they have a good hold on 2nd place in the west. They also get gifted a REDBLACKS team that is without Trevor Harris and Drew Tate.

The Riders stay at #3 after a tough win in Hamilton. Losing 10 players to injury is difficult for any team to overcome, but the Riders held on by a yard. We don’t ask how, just how many. Toughest game of the season coming up Sunday against Calgary.

Toronto beat the Esks (in questionable fashion) and get the dumpster fire Als. They have the inside track on a first round bye as long as Ricky Ray is healthy.

BC and Edmonton are both lost right now. BC lost Travis Lulay for the year (possibly longer) and Edmonton has lost 5 straight games. BC gets Hamilton at home in a game they should have no issues with and at least Edmonton can’t lose on a bye week… at least that’s what we thought with Hamilton and we all know how that week turned out…

Ottawa would be higher if they had a legitimate QB ready to play this week. Luckily for them they played Montreal last week and didn’t need to do anything to win that game. Tough test against the Bombers this week.

Hamilton and Montreal. Yikes. Nuff said.
